This simple yet effective design is based on a tool used in the rice fields of Japan, converted to a weapon in that era.  Missing (for LARP purposes) the weighted chain which extended from the end of the haft and was twirled in the off-hand to catch and foul the opponents’ weapon, this version is still a great looking addition to any Oriental-inspired character costume.

 

The core is only present in the haft of this weapon for safety.
