With bravos wandering the towns and cities in the Renaissance period, out for the evening and carousing with their friends, their sword in its’ scabbard would clash , or “swash,” against the buckler hanging underneath from their belts, henceforth giving them the name “Swashbucklers.”

The buckler was used as a defensive tool to protect the swordsman, to disguise his sword strokes from his opponent and to threaten an area or strike with in close quarters—a truly versatile addition to your swordplay.

This larp-safe version is made completely from foam with no rigid inner wooden core, is firm and  approx. 13 inches in diameter.  It has a centre-boss grip covered in leather.  Here shown either plain or with a simple design of your choice, at no extra cost.  It also comes with a brace inside to put a loop through if you wish to hang it from your shoulder or belt.
